The Association of Private Tourist Organizations of Uzbekistan (APTA) had developed a project entitled “Developing Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Uzbekistan by increasing skills of entrepreneurship and developping business environment”. The implementation of the project will help to develop the potential of tourism business in Uzbekistan.

From June 14 to July 3, a series of training seminars began in the building of the regional Department of Tourism and Sports of Bukhara as part of the APTA - USAID's Future Growth Initiative project, attended by owners of guest houses of the region. The seminars deal with the following topics: guesthouse management, hospitality, catering and leisure, financial planning and marketing of guest houses as well as effective communication, conflict resolution and dispute resolution are covered.

At the end of the five-day training program, the participants present their business plans. The project is intended to help create new jobs and increase the incomes of the rural population, and in particular to support women in rural tourism.
