Changes have been made to public standards for accommodation facilities

The public standards defining general requirements for accommodation facilities and services rendered by them O'z DSt 3220: 2017
("Tourist services. Accommodation. General requirements"
and the O'z DSt 3296: 2018
("Travel Services. Hotels and Similar Accommodation. The Classification System")
have been changed in accordance with the relevant government regulations.

In particular, the requirements for medical facilities have been relaxed. Now the requirements for fencing and protecting the territory of clinics, the presence of a room for luggage storage and the provision of inventory for temporary use have been lifted.

According to Article 25 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" No. ЗРУ-641 of October 15, 2020, requirements are specified according to which hotels and similar accommodations must have at least one room with disabled facilities and furnishings.

In accordance with the "Action plan to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic and global crisis situations on the country's tourism sector", an electronic lock with an electronic key integrated into an electronic program (plastic magnetic card) and a video surveillance system that is integrated into the "Safe Tourism and Safe City" system. These requirements come into effect on January 3, 2022.

In order to create additional amenities for the customers in hotels and to increase the income of the hotels, the establishment of shops and kiosks with national handicraft products in hotels of category 3 or higher was prescribed according to the above decree.

The changes to the national standard O'z DSt 3220: 2017 come into force on July 3, 2021, and the national standard O'z DSt 3296: 2018 comes into force on June 30, 2021.
