The President held the meeting on tourism issues

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a conference call on the expansion of tourist services and infrastructure development.

 

On April 26, a conference call was held on the expansion of tourist services and infrastructure development. The Tashkent Khokimiyat was instructed to create conditions when foreign guests will be able to stay in the capital for at least 3 days and spend $1,000 on services, which will attract 1 million tourists. The task has also been set to increase the number of domestic tourists to 10 million by improving infrastructure.

There are 186 festivals held in the country, including international ones. Responsible persons were instructed to hold events at a high level and attract additional tourists. The task has been set to activate the activities of museums and exhibitions in the regions and turn more than 4,500 archaeological monuments of the country into open-air museums.

From July 1, new measures to support tourist facilities will come into force (tax cuts, preferential loans, subsidies, training in tourist colleges). And from September 1, cashback is introduced for citizens traveling in Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Transport was instructed to organize and increase air services, trains and bus flights between the cities of the republic in a month, taking into account the reduction of transport costs for tourists.

The Ministry of Tourism will hold a competition of websites and mobile applications for foreign tourists. The best projects will receive grants.
