Study-tour for tourism specialists from Uzbekistan finished in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan has completed a study tour for tourism specialists from Uzbekistan. The tour took place from May 30 to June 6 this year. 

The tour was organized by the Kyrgyz Association for Community-Based Tourism (KCBTA) under the European Union regional project "Silk Road Community-Based Tourism Initiative: Creating Connection between Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and the European Market" under the EU programe "Central Asia Invest V".

The purpose of this tour is to get acquainted with the work of the Tourist Information Centers (TIC), functioning within the structure of KCBTA.

The study tour was attended by representatives of the Tourist Service Centre under the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, the Main Tourism and Cultural Heritage Department of Fergana region, the Association of Private Tourism Agencies

 of Uzbekistan, and the Association of Transport Tourism.

During the tour, specialists from Uzbekistan visited more than 15 tourist locations.

The week-long tour included visits to four TICs in Kyrgyzstan: Kochkor, Bokonbaevo, Karakol and Chong-Kemin. Here, presentations of TICs and tourist products were held for the participants.

During the study tour, participants visited the village of Kochkor and visited the "Shyrdak" guest house, where they were presented with a master class on making Kyrgyz traditional felt carpets "ala kiiz" and "shirdak". The tour participants toured the village of yurt masters (boz-ui) - Kyzyl-Tuu, visited the yurt camps Bel-Tam and Zhaichi, as well as the Canyon ‘’Skazka’’  (near Lake Issyk-Kul) and the Jety-Oguz Gorge.

An eagle hunting show was organized for the participants at the Jaichi Yurt Camp.

The group of specialists also traveled to the Chong-Kemin Valley and visited the Ruh-Ordo complex and the Open Air Museum of Petroglyphs on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Cholpon-Ata.
