Google started paying VAT in Uzbekistan
Since 2020, the Tax Code introduced the payment of VAT by foreign companies that provide services to individuals in Uzbekistan in electronic form. This was reported by the press service of the State Oil Company.
For registration in our country for such companies, the State Tax Committee has created a special resource - the VAT office of Internet companies.
To date, 9 foreign companies have voluntarily registered as taxpayers through the VAT office in Uzbekistan:
- Google Commerce Limited
- Google Ireland Limited
- Google Voice Inc
- Apple Distribution International Limited
- Netflix International B.V.
- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
- Сleverbridge AG
- Xsolla (USA), Inc.
- Activision Blizzard International BV
The first VAT receipt was made by Google Commerce Limited. According to the results of activity for the first quarter of this year, the company paid 85 thousand euros.
Voluntary registration is evidence that foreign companies value their reputation and respect the laws of the countries in which they provide their paid services.
Considering that e-commerce is also actively developing in our country, such a positive experience of voluntary registration and payment of taxes is a good example for local entrepreneurs.
Applications from foreign companies for registration through the VAT office at the State Oil Company continue to be received.
