6.7 million tourists visited Uzbekistan in a year - State Committee for Tourism

Over the past year, Uzbekistan was visited by 6.7 million tourists. Most of them (81.8%) came to visit their relatives and friends, and 15.5% - for recreation.

In 2019, Uzbekistan was visited by 6.7 million tourists (in 2018 - 5.3 million). This was announced on January 10 at a briefing by the leadership of the State Committee for Tourism Development.

Of these, 81.8% arrived in Uzbekistan to visit their relatives and friends, and 15.5% for recreation. 2.7% of citizens came for treatment, shopping, participation in business meetings and studies.

51.3% of arrivals were persons aged 31-55 years, 20.2% - aged 55 years and older, 19.5% - aged 19-30 years old and 9.1% - persons aged 0-18 years ...

The largest number of tourists came from the Central Asian region - 5.7 million people. 495.6 thousand tourists came from the CIS countries. The number of visitors from non-CIS countries amounted to 488.4 thousand people.

Most of the tourists came from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Turkey, Afghanistan, China, the Republic of Korea and India.

By the end of the year, the volume of exports of tourism services reached $ 1.3 billion (in 2018 - $ 1 billion).
