Abdulla Aripov announced the creation in 2020 of the state-owned airline Humo Air, whose tariffs on regular flights within the country will be "significantly lower than the current ones."
The candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov announced the creation of the state-owned airline Humo Air in 2020, the Gazeta.uz correspondent reports.
"In order to create a competitive environment in the aviation sector, the activities of the state-owned airline Humo Air will be established this year," Abdulla Aripov said, presenting an action plan as head of government at a meeting of the Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP) on Saturday.
“At the initial stage, this airline will establish regular flights within, I repeat, within the republic at tariffs that will be much cheaper than the existing ones. This task was specifically set by the esteemed president for our government, and I think that in the current 2020 we will definitely organize and implement it, ”said Abdulla Aripov to the applause of the meeting participants.
He noted that the government's plans also include the reconstruction of the airports of Samarkand and Termez and the renewal of the aircraft fleet of the operating airline Uzbekistan AIrways.
