There have been changes made to the state standards for the provision of services in the field of tourism

In state standards establishing general requirements for accommodation facilities and services provided O‘z DSt 3220:2017 “Tourist services. Accommodation facilities.

General requirements” and O‘z DSt 3296:2018 “Tourism services. Hotels and similar accommodation facilities. Classification system” was amended in accordance with the relevant government decrees.
In particular, the requirements for medical institutions have been relaxed. The requirements for the fencing and protection of the area around clinics, the availability of space for storing luggage, and the issuance of inventory for temporary use have been cancelled.

In accordance with Article 25 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. ZRU-641 dated October 15, 2020 “On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”, requirements have been introduced for the presence of at least one room with facilities for the disabled in hotels and similar accommodation facilities and for the equipment of the premises.

Also, by Resolution No. 433 of July 10, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved the "Action Plan to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the global crisis on the country's tourism industry." In accordance with it, in order to create convenience and ensure the safety of visitors in hotels and similar accommodation facilities, electronic locks with electronic keys (plastic magnetic cards) integrated with electronic software were installed and a requirement was introduced for video surveillance systems integrated with Safe Tourism systems and Safe City. These requirements came into effect on January 3, 2022.

In accordance with the above resolution, in order to create additional amenities for customers in hotels, as well as increase additional revenue, a requirement was introduced to open shops and outlets selling national handicrafts in hotels of three or more categories.
Changes made to the state standard O‘z DSt 3220:2017 came into force on July 3, 2021, and to the state standard O‘z DSt 3296:2018 from June 30, 2021.

In view of the foregoing, we remind business entities of the need to bring accommodation facilities in line with the requirements of state standards. Compliance with these requirements is checked during the next inspection control of certification objects in accordance with the program of changes made in accordance with the standard.

In the first week of 2022, certification checks were carried out at 7 facilities providing accommodation services.
According to the results of the audits, certification was denied to 6 facilities providing accommodation services due to the lack of electronic locks with electronic keys (plastic magnetic cards) integrated with electronic software and a special room for the disabled.
