The message to the parliament of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has become a politically significant event that imposes a huge responsibility on specialists in all sectors of the economy and social life of our country.

Priority tasks and directions are outlined in the spheres of tourism and sports. The head of state designated tourism as a strategically important branch of the economy that requires cardinal changes, primarily in our attitude to our work, our worldview.

In the Address to the Parliament of the head of the country, along with traditional types of tourism, special attention is paid to the development of pilgrim and medical tourism, the necessary orders were given in this direction. It is pertinent to note that in connection with the declaration of the city of Bukhara as the "Capital of Islamic Culture in 2020", the State Committee for Tourism plans to hold the II International Forum of Pilgrimage Tourism in a completely different, updated format.

Medical tourism has been designated as one of the most promising types of travel industry, and large-scale work has been launched in the country to develop it. In particular, the Association of Medical Tourism of Uzbekistan was established for the first time in our country. At the same time, measures are being implemented to simplify the organization of the activities of sanatoriums and health resorts in our country, to promote them widely abroad, which, according to estimates, will double the number of foreign visitors to medical tourism facilities. The export of medical services is planned to be increased to $ 12.6 million (in 2019 - $ 6.3 million).

Another significant project in the field of medical tourism - an electronic platform has been created in all medical institutions of the country, which will contain information about the types of services provided in them, prices for them, types of operations performed, and so on. Access to this information will be provided to potential users of medical tourism from abroad, without hindering the interests of the local population.

It is known that objects of material culture are considered our main tourist resource. Based on this, the President paid special attention to this area. It was noted that currently there are over 8,200 cultural heritage sites in our country, of which only 500 are included in travel routes. The task was set to increase the number of such objects to 800, including them in the routes of pilgrimage and traditional tourism.

In this direction, based on the announcement of 2020 as the Year of Development of Science, Education and the Digital Economy, it is planned to establish turnstiles that provide access to cultural heritage sites through electronic tickets, and widely introduce other types of digital technologies for the development of the domestic tourism industry.

For the further development of the sectoral infrastructure for the construction of new modern hotels, it is planned to allocate 200 billion soums of subsidies from the state budget this year, which will make it possible to create accommodation facilities for guests twice as compared to 2019.

Timely fulfillment of the tasks designated by the head of state at a high level will ensure an increase in the number of tourists to our country to 7.5 million in 2020, 12 million - by 2015.

In the field of sports, the approach of wide dissemination of a healthy lifestyle among people will prevail through its active propaganda among people, the organization of sports clubs and circles, the construction of sports complexes and the attraction of the population to them, especially young people. In addition, this contributes to the prevention of various diseases, and, accordingly, saving money for the population, increasing its well-being. The more young people go in for sports, the less often our boys and girls will go to medical institutions. In a word, we will take all measures to ensure that a healthy lifestyle becomes an everyday lifestyle for each of our compatriots.

The main goal pursued by the leader of the country is to ensure employment of the population and increase its well-being by half.

The Address to Parliament emphasized that there are many unused opportunities in the remote territories of Uzbekistan.

Based on this, as Deputy Prime Minister, I have set myself the task of spending 70 percent of my time in remote regions in order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set by the head of the country to improve the well-being of the population, create jobs through the construction of new hotels and family guest houses. , objects of the tourism industry, sports complexes. I plan to regularly meet with local entrepreneurs, assist in solving their problems in providing them with land plots and other resources necessary for organizing a business, thereby mobilizing my efforts for the development of entrepreneurship, tourism and sports.

In my appointment to a responsible position, I see a manifestation of great confidence on the part of the President and I want to assure that we will mobilize all our forces, experience and knowledge to carry out the tasks assigned to us.
