Within the framework of the EU Switch Asia Program, trainings on sustainable tourism practices were held in five regions of Uzbekistan

From September 12 to 23 of this year, in five regions of Uzbekistan, within the framework of the European Union's Switch Asia Program: The Project "Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy production in the tourism sector at the community level in Central Asia", trainings were held on sustainable tourism practices for representatives of the CBT.
The trainings were organized by ACTED with the support of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA).
Trainings passed:
- September 12-13 in Fergana (Terra Nova Hotel);
- September 20-21 in Bukhara (Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Bukhara region) and Nukus (Pana Hotel);
-22-23 September in Samarkand (Zilol Bakht Hotel) and Tashkent region (Kumushkon, MFY).
In total, more than 50 people were trained as part of the above trainings. The participants mastered such topics as: sustainability and sustainable tourism, sustainable use of resources (water, energy, waste), understanding of the main markets and target groups with demand for sustainable tourism, micro and macro strategies to promote sustainable tourism, etc.
The trainers were representatives of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) CBT - participants of the study tour in Berlin.
Remind that earlier ACTED, with the support of Mascontour, as well as APTA, the Tajik Community Based Tourism Association (TCBTA) and the Kyrgyz Community Based Tourism Association (KCBTA) in the city of Berlin (Germany), within the framework of the above Project, a study tour was organized for representatives CBT from Central Asia.
The aim of this study tour was to raise awareness among ETS MSMEs of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) practices, including the benefits of renewable energy/electricity (RES/EE) technologies. From Uzbekistan, 5 micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) SVT participated in the study tour (from Bukhara (family guest house "Koh-i-noor"), from Samarkand (family guest house "Fayz"), from Ferghana (family guest house "Uvaysiy"), from the Tashkent region (family guest house "Kumushkon Saxovati") and from the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Yurt camp).
Using this experience gained, each in their region, the participants of the above round during the trainings shared specific methods for introducing SCP practices and behaviors into the daily activities of MSMEs.
