CBT - tourism: Within the framework of the EU Program, a visit of RuralTour experts to Uzbekistan was organized

On October 18 this year , a five-day visit to Uzbekistan by experts from the European Rural Tourism Federation - RuralTour (Eurogites) began. During the visit, the experts will visit Andijan, Ferghana and Namangan regions.
 
The above visit organized by ACTED with the support of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTА) within the framework of the European Union Program "Central Asia Invest V" the «Silk Road CBT Initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets»" project.
 
The purpose of the visit is to exchange experience and explore the potential of CBT (Community based tourism, Community Based Tourism) in Uzbekistan. RuralTour experts Andris Vaivods and Zane Vaivode will study the CBT potential of the three regions of the country and will provide advisory support to local CBT representatives.
 
The experts are accompanied by a representative of the APTА - Frank Ludwig.

In the first days of the visit, on October 18-19, the experts visited the Andijan region, where they met with representatives of the General Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Andijan region, held a meeting with representatives of the Destination Management Committee (DMC), visited family guest houses, made trips to a camel farm with tasting "Tuva suti".

The visit of RuralTour experts will last until October 22 this year.
