In Amirsoy hosted a "Discussion Table" with the participation of the UNWTO General Secretary
On November 7 of this year, in the Amirsoy ski resort hosted “Discussion table” on the topic “New initiatives for the development of tourism in Uzbekistan”.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov, General Secretary of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili, as well as representatives of the tourism industry, associations, including the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTА), travel - bloggers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the event, representatives of the tourism sector presented presentations on the development of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan.
In particular, representatives of the APTА made a presentation of a project for the development of community-based tourism (CBT) in Uzbekistan. As part of the presentation, the participants of the discussion were provided with information about the work on the USAID Future Growth Initiative Project - the project “Development of CBT tourism in Uzbekistan, by improving the professional competencies of rural residents. Phase II”, which includes the development of a classifier project for family guest houses, training of CBT representatives, etc.
And also the work of the APTA in the direction of development and implementation of "green" technologies in the tourism sector, carried out within the framework of the European Union Program "Switch Asia" was presented.
Following the event, the participants exchanged views on the further development of the tourism potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
