The unified ticket system is planned to be launched in March

A unified system for selling electronic tickets to cultural and art institutions is planned to be launched in March. According to the Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, she will help fight resellers and the "black market" of tickets.

The launch of the Unified Electronic Ticketing System (UETS) will help fight speculators, which artificially raise prices for tickets to cultural and art institutions and form a "black market". This was stated at a briefing on Tuesday by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov.

“After that, I think there will be fewer cases where tickets for box office performances go to [resellers],” he said.

The creation and launch of UETS was assigned to the Fund for the Development of Culture and Arts until January 1, 2020. In addition, the fund, together with the Central Bank, by April 1, should introduce payment for electronic tickets in foreign currency using Internet acquiring.

As it became known to Gazeta.uz, the system is planned to be launched in test mode in March. Enterprises in the field of culture and art, including theaters, cinemas, as well as services for the sale of electronic tickets for events, have the right to connect to UETS.

The authorized body will charge subscribers 6% of the cost of sold electronic tickets, while foreign currency will be converted into national currency at the rate of the servicing bank.

Depending on the significance and attendance of the event, one of the types of user verification will be determined:

basic - verification using e-mail;
medium - using a phone number;
high - use of a personal identification number of an individual.
