Certification of travel companies and hotels is planned to be canceled

The certification center under the State Committee for Tourism will be turned into an inspection for control over the quality of services.

Certification of companies working in the tourism sector is planned to be canceled. Abdulaziz Akkulov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, said this at a meeting of representatives of the tourism business APTA Networking Club - 2020.

It is planned to abolish permits due to increased competition among entrepreneurs in the sphere. This, according to Akkulov, will lead to an increase in the quality of services provided to tourists.

“Now the Certification Center [of tourism services under the State Committee for Tourism] is perceived as a supervisory authority. We plan to reformat its activities and turn it into an inspection, the main task of which will be to control the quality of services provided not only by tour operators, hotels, but also by all companies that provide services to tourists. This will take about 1-2 years, ”said the deputy head of the State Committee for Tourism.

Quality control will be carried out based on feedback and ratings from tourists. The inspectorate will compile a rating of companies, which should stimulate organizations to improve service, the committee said.

So, hotels or travel companies that provide services of poor quality will lose points and, accordingly, their position in the rating.

Abdulaziz Akkulov said that in the near future it is planned to adopt a document exempting travel agencies from certification.

“In the future, tour operators and hotels will no longer need to obtain certificates. In conditions of developed competition, when, for example, two hotels in the struggle for a client will strive to provide better services, the state will not need to interfere in the work of companies by issuing permits, ” he said.

Spot previously wrote that the certification time for perishable goods was reduced to one day.
