On April 18 of this year in the city of Shakhrisabz (Kashkadarya region) a training seminar was held for representatives of CBT within the framework of the USAID Future Growth Initiative Project.

The training seminar “Classification of family guest houses - as an effective tool for attracting tourists” was organized by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) with the support of fast tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the regional tourism development department of the Kashkadarya region.

During the training, participants learned about topics such as:
- Classification in tourism. This section distinguishes between the own goals and objectives of the classification of the placement of funds.
- Classification of family guest houses. Participants explored how classification can improve the attractiveness and competitiveness of family guesthouses through marketing and business development.
- Development of a classifier. APTA experts have presented a draft classifier for family guest houses in Uzbekistan.
- Approbation of the classifier. Participants were presented with a version of the classifier and the star rating sign, which can be used to assess the quality of services.

At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates confirming successful completion of the training.

Let us recall that earlier the classifier project had already been successfully implemented in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara and Samarkand regions.

The classification of family guest houses is important in the tourism industry. This is a guarantee of service quality, a benchmark for consumers, increased competitiveness, a basis for quality compliance, improved management and marketing.

The past training seminar in Shakhrisabz was a step in improving the quality and efficiency of family guest houses and competitively stimulating the development of tourism in these regions.
