A seminar for the CBT Destination Development Working Group was held in Namangan
On August 1-2 this year in Namangan at the «Shedevr Plaza» hotel within the framework of the «Silk Road CBT Initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets» of the European Union Program «Central Asia Invest V» hosted a 2-day workshop for the Community Based Tourism (CBT) Destination Development Working Group.
The seminar was organized by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Administration of the Namangan Region.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Namangan region, hokimiyat of Namangan region, APTА, Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection of Namangan region, Forestry Department of Namangan region, College of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Namangan, as well as representatives of the Association of Craftsmen, CBT representatives, tour operators and guides.

Within the framework of the 2-day seminar, the participants were presented with presentations «APTA» and «Goals of the EU project and the objectives of this event for the development of CBT», such topics as: Basic knowledge about CBT, Branding, an example of successful CBT (on the experience of Kyrgyzstan), CBT in Namangan region: features and prerequisites, tasks for the development of CBT in Namangan region. Also, conversations were held on the development of their own tourism product, the participants' proposals for the development of CBT were considered.
As a result of the seminar, on August 2, final consultations were held with representatives of the Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Namangan region.
