Within the framework of TITF-2022, the Regional Pilot Conference «Green Tourism in Central Asia and beyond» was held

On December 1 of this year, within the framework of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair "Tourism on the Silk Road" -2022 (TITF-2022), the Regional Pilot Conference "Green Tourism in Central Asia and beyond" (hereinafter referred to as the Conference) was held at the International Hotel in the capital.
 
The conference was organized by ACTED with the assistance of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the ACTED regional tourism program funded by the European Union Programs "Switch Asia" and "Central Asia Invest".
 
The purpose of the Conference is to showcase the successful examples of Green Tourism in Central Asia to an international audience.
The event was opened by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments, Tourism Clusters and Licensing Nusratilla Zikrillaev.

Also, Kyyal Kenzhematova, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Tojidin Jurazoda, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Wim RIEPMA - Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the European Union in the Republic Uzbekistan, Patrick Fritz - Technical Coordinator, UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Dilfuza Zakirova - Country Representative, ACTED Uzbekistan.
 
Within the framework of the Conference, plenary sessions "Central Asian integration and intra-regional coordination", "Favorable environment for green tourism and green energy" were held, at which topical issues of further development of green tourism, market opportunities for sustainable tourism, environmental certification, the introduction of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency (RES/EE) in the sector, etc.
 
At the end of the event, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Associations of Community Based Tourism (CBT) and the Memorandum of Understanding between the CBT Associations and Good Travel Seal (European Organization for Environmental Certification) were signed.
 
The Conference was attended by representatives of government institutions, the European Union and external partners (the green economy and tourism sector), partners in the implementation of the ACTED tourism program, representatives of the Community Based Tourism Associations (CTA) and its members, APTA, Microfinance Institutions, representatives of the renewable energy sector energy and energy efficiency (RES/EE), etc.
