Winners of the business plan competition were awarded grants for equipping family guest houses
The winners of the competition of business plans for representatives of the CBT of Uzbekistan were provided with grants within the framework of the European Union program "Central Asia Invest V" for the implementation of a business plan (equipment of a family guest house).
Grants were received by 6 family guest houses from three regions of the country:
- Andijan region - 2 CBT representatives;
- Fergana region - 3 CBT representatives;
- Tashkent region - one CBT representative.
Remind that in August - September 2022 in the Fergana, Andijan, Namangan and Tashkent regions within the framework of the project "Silk Road CBT Initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets" Central Asia Invest V" held a 3-day training seminar on financial literacy and business planning for representatives of CBT (owners of family guest houses / potential owners of family guest houses).
Based on the results of these training seminars, the participants developed business plans for opening / developing a family guest house, which were presented at the competition of business plans for representatives of the CBT of Uzbekistan.
The organizers of the training seminars and the competition of business plans were the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) and ACTED.
From the submitted business plans, members of the competition committee, which included business consultants and representatives of ACTED and APTA, selected 6 winners. Each winner was provided with a grant from ACTED for the implementation of the business plan, with the obligatory condition of co-contribution.
Under the terms of the competition, this grant can be used to improve the family guest house / equip the family guest house.
