The US Ambassador of Uzbekistan visited the 2-star family guest house

On March 30 this year, the Ambassador of the United State of America of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick visited the family guest house "Koh-i-noor", located in the city of Bukhara.

The family guest house "Koh-i-noor" was a participant in a pilot classification project, which is being implemented as part of the USAID's Future Growth Initiative (FGI) project «Development of Community Based Tourism in Uzbekistan by improving the professional competence of rural residents.Phase II».

"Koh-i-noor" is the first family guest house in Uzbekistan that has been assessed according to the draft classifier developed by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) as part of the USAID's FGI Project. According to the results of the assessment, the family guest house "Koh-i-noor" was awarded the category "2 stars".

As part of this visit, the US Ambassador of Uzbekistan met with the Chairman of the APTA, Israilova G.B.

During the meeting, Jonathan Henick was provided with full information about the projects that were implemented by APTA under the USAID's FGI Project (Phase I and Phase II). Including about the project on the classification of family guest houses in Uzbekistan.

In particular, the stages of the development of the draft classifier, the development of a certificate and the badge of rating stars, the testing and implementation of the classifier were highlighted, the principle of transparency in the evaluation process was noted - the mandatory participation of an independent observer in the process of classifying family guest houses.

And also information was provided on the first results of the implementation of a pilot project on the classification of family guest houses in Uzbekistan.

Remind that at the moment 71 family guest houses have been assessed in accordance with the draft classifier: 40 family guest houses in the Bukhara region and 31 family guest houses in the Samarkand region.
