Will take new measures to support the population and business

The next presidential decree to support the population and business during the coronavirus epidemic will include measures to strengthen social protection of vulnerable segments of the population and prevent price increases.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Monday was informed about the draft decree of the head of state "On additional measures to support the population, economic sectors and business entities during the coronavirus pandemic."

According to the presidential press service, the document is being developed on behalf of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and will become a logical continuation of his decree of March 19 "On priority measures to mitigate the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic and global crisis on the economy."

The draft decree provides for "regular benefits, preferences and other important measures to mitigate the negative impact of the pandemic on the country's economy and the standard of living of the population," the statement said.

The President instructed the responsible persons to include in the project "specific measures to strengthen social protection of lonely elderly, disabled and low-income families, saturate the market with food and medicines, prevent price increases for them, prevent a decrease in the working capital of business entities and provide them with additional benefits."

Recall, by the decree of March 19, the Anti-Crisis Fund was created under the Ministry of Finance in the amount of 10 trillion soums and the Republican Anti-Crisis Commission headed by the Prime Minister was formed.
