Workshop: Characteristics of a tourism destination in the Republic of Belarus

Belarus is a country with an ancient history and rich traditions, beautiful nature and amazing architecture, industrial giants and developed agriculture, unique cuisine and hospitable people. Every year the country becomes more and more attractive for tourists, including tourists from Uzbekistan. Tourism in Belarus is officially recognized as one of the priority areas of the country's socio-economic development. There were both created and implemented some national programs, which are mainly focused on the development of tourism industry. These programs are already producing very tangible results.

In the context of the development of economic and cultural ties between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan, significant attention is paid to the development of tourism. Practical agreements have already been reached on intensifying interaction in the field of tourism, specific projects and events have been outlined.

On February 28, 2024, a Workshop: “Characteristics of a tourism destination of the Republic of Belarus” was held in Tashkent at the Hilton Tashkent City Hotel. The event was organized by the Republican Union of Tourism Industry of the Republic of Belarus, it took place with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan. The main goal of the event was to demonstrate the tourism potential of Belarus.

Participants in the workshop “Characteristics of a tourism destination in the Republic of Belarus” were interested in the most popular destinations:

- sanatoriums of the forest country;

- city break in Minsk and excursion tours;

- hotels and services for MICE and business travel.

There are many potential opportunities for the development of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation in the tourism sector and it is important to use this positive impulse with maximum effect.
