APTA took part in the 57th international tourism exhibition “ITB Berlin-2024”

A representative of APTA took part in the world’s largest exhibition “ITB Berlin-2024”, held in the German capital from March 5 to 7 this year. Participation in the exhibition took place with the support of the Project "The USAID Future Growth Initiative".

At ITB Berlin-2024, one of the largest and most significant events in the global tourism and hospitality industry, an important milestone was achieved in strengthening the international cooperation of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan with foreign partners.

During the three days of the exhibition, a representative of the Association held more than 70 meetings and negotiations, which emphasizes the active interest of participants in developing mutually beneficial relationships and establishing business connections.

In particular, within the framework of working meetings and negotiations, APTA announced the holding of the international tourism exhibition “Tashkent Travel Mart-2024” in B2B format, which will be held in October 2024 in the city of Tashkent.

Also, during the business meetings, the foundations were laid for further cooperation between Associations and tourism agencies of the countries of the European Union, the Middle East and the Pacific region with Uzbekistan, namely negotiations were held with countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, etc. This cooperation will cover a wide range of areas, including the exchange of tourist flows, the development of joint marketing and advertising campaigns, as well as the joint development of new tourist routes.

In addition, on March 4, as part of the ITB Berlin-2024 events, the Import Promotion Desk (IPD) workshop was held, in which a representative of the APTA also took part. The workshop was aimed at supporting and developing tour operators from Malawi, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan, and the main vector of the workshop was training in effective methods and strategies for selling tourism services.

The key topics for discussion at the workshop were:
• Tourism Product Development: Participants were introduced to methods for creating unique and attractive tourism products that can attract the attention of international tourists, with special attention paid to the cultural and natural resources of each country;
• Sales and marketing strategies: modern marketing strategies and promotion tools were discussed;
• Partnership networks and cooperation: the workshop emphasized the importance of creating and developing partnerships between tour operators, hoteliers and other participants in the tourism industry to expand sales opportunities and exchange customer bases;
• Participation in exhibitions and their monitoring: valuable recommendations were given for effective participation in ITB Berlin-2024.

Thus, the participation of APTA at the ITB Berlin-2024 exhibition became a unique opportunity to discuss current trends, challenges and prospects for tourism development, and the negotiations held with representatives of the tourism sector from different parts of the world contributed to the exchange of knowledge and best practices, which will undoubtedly be a good impetus for the growth and development of the tourism industry as a whole.
